Freestone District Park

The Gilbert Central Trail System offers 54 miles of bike-friendly trails. Plus, the trail system runs through 3 separate park systems if you want a break to enjoy the scenery.  Don’t forget to take some time to explore the pocket parks, ramadas, and monuments along the way. 


Fun Fact: Gilbert, AZ was known as “The Hay Capital of the World”

Known as the Hay Capital of the World, there’s plenty to do in Gilbert aside from its agricultural roots! However, if you love spending time outdoors, this is definitely a great destination for you. 


Gilbert was a prime farming community, fueled by the construction of the Roosevelt Dam and the Eastern and Consolidated Canals in 1911. It remained an agricultural town for many years and was known as the “Hay Capital of the World” until the late 1920s.
