St. Louis Entertainment Warehouses Attract Vacation Rental Guests

St. Louis has some exciting new venues with fun things to do indoors and plenty of activity choices for everyone. These thriving establishments offer food, drinks and entertainment for locals and tourists alike. So, no matter what the weather holds, visitors can plan on having fun with friends or family at one of these bustling locations near popular vacation rental properties.

City Foundry STL

Tons of live music is on the calendar for this industrial warehouse turned entertainment venue, featuring 350,000 square feet full of kitchens, shops and activities. The concept of such a space was inspired by The Ponce City Market in Atlanta, where actor Will Smith and his father Steve Smith, CEO of the New + Found investment firm, first saw the idea in person. Cities like St. Louis are taking to the venue because of the diversity of shops and restaurants offered in one location.

At 10,000 square feet, The City Winery is one of the newest additions to City Foundry STL, but plans to maximize the use of the space to increase brand awareness and sales. This location has a fully functioning winery in addition to its live event space. And BerryBox Superfood Store joined recently as well, adding on to the “17 kitchens” and counting. This first-ever food hall in St. Louis is especially popular with locals because it is open seven days a week.

The “tech-infused” version of Top Golf is available from Puttshack, which also has a globally inspired cocktail bar and restaurant. The two-story interior design is in “night mode” with its neon-colored illuminated courses. Private and semi-private party spaces are available as well.

If retail shopping is more your speed, this is the closest thing to a traditional mall for miles around. These boutique-style shops put local first by showcasing the talent and skill of nearby artists, designers, and jewelers. There’s also a space dedicated to women-owned brands, which includes a curated collection of gifts and sundries focused on wellness and self-care.

The live music line up also has something for everyone. From DJ Rico to Eric Nelson, enjoy the sounds every Friday and Saturday night in the Food Hall with all-local St. Louis talent. If you’re looking to change things up, there’s also Trivia Nights every Thursday with free prizes and tough competitors.

Only a mile away from the City Foundry STL is a beautiful three-bedroom short-term rental in The Grove, perfect for getting the full city experience with its exposed brick walls and stainless steel appliances. There is even a private fenced in yard and rarely found two-car garage.

For a four-bedroom option, there’s a light-filled row home property with high ceilings and a well-appointed kitchen that has been professionally decorated.

For those needing even more room, there’s a two-story single family home that is kid friendly with breezy decor a little further down the way. It also has two washers and two dryers, as well as a private backyard for gathering.

The Armory STL

Literally branded as “The Biggest Bar in STL”, this new St. Louis attraction is a 250,000 square foot space dedicated to food and entertainment – with one of its first shows starring Lil Jon. It’s designed to optimize ticketed, live entertainment, but is next generation creative in having a two-story slide, 92 tap handles and more than 40 interactive games.

The venue got its name from its origins as a national guard armory in the 1930’s, where it housed military equipment and training areas. It is now the largest entertainment venue in St. Louis and is quickly becoming known as the city’s living room in Midtown.

A short distance away from the Armory are these gorgeous townhomes with up to five bedrooms. Each has a unique downtown city feel to them but with consistently high thread count sheets and plush towels. They even come equipped with toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner and soaps.

5 Bedroom Designer Home in Shaw

Fan of history? For smaller groups, there is a two-bedroom short-term rental property located in the historic district of McKinley Heights. Guests love it for its working fireplace, hardwood floors, and ornate doorway arches throughout the home. The furnished deck overlooks a large outdoor space.

The Anheuser-Busch St. Louis Brewery

Even older than The Armory is the Anheuser-Busch brewery – its flagship location – which opened in the 1850’s. The brewing company, which has several locations in the U.S., is one of the nation’s largest beer brands. Today it has more than 1,500 Google reviews and a 4.6 star rating with most comments remarking about the fact that all the food is somehow made with beer as an ingredient or cooking element. The tours, with samples and education about the process, receive very positive reviews and the beer garden is available for those who just want to hang out.

Some tours are subject to weather conditions, but do include a viewing of the famous Clydesdale stables. Featured in their commercials and advertisements for decades, these unusually large horses can be seen in the stables during the tour.

The perfect vacation rental to complement a day of legendary tours in St. Louis is the exquisite La Grande Maison De Soulard. A former bed and breakfast, this converted property has five bedrooms and five baths and retains much of the original woodwork throughout the home. It’s in a prime location for visiting each of these popular venues, plus many more.

5 Bedroom Luxury Home with En Suite Baths

Smaller groups traveling together should check out this smartly outfitted home with three bedrooms. It’s within walking distance to cute shops and restaurants. It even comes with two private parking spaces, which is rare for the Benton Park neighborhood.

2 Bedroom Designer Townhome

These new entertainment warehouses are continuing to attract more guests. St. Louis has more to offer than just these music venues and food halls, but they are a great place to start, or end the day. Finding a comfortable space to relax with hotel quality linens and enough room for your family or friends might be the best way to enjoy the entire experience.

Date Night Hot Spots in St. Louis

The best parts of your St. Louis getaway will be those moments when you can piece together some time for just you and your partner. Dining on fine foods. Sipping a sensational chardonnay. Laughing at the comedian that until now you had only seen on television. These are the moments that turn an ordinary vacation into an extraordinary dream come true! This guide to date night hot spots in romantic St. Louis will ensure that this escape will be one you never want to end.

Love and Laughter Go Hand in Hand

If you can’t laugh together, you can’t expect a relationship to last long, but don’t be worried! The Funny Bone, located at 614 W. Port Plaza, has the solution to your grumpiness, offering professional comics nearly every night of the week; Tuesdays and Sundays are dedicated to open mic nights. If you think you have a funny bone that tickles, give it a shot! Or just enjoy a night of laughter and mirth together.

Let the Good Times Roll

Broadway Oyster Bar, located at 736 S. Broadway, offers a spicy date night hot spot to enjoy delicious Cajun delicacies. Listen to the live performances that are once more hitting the stage of the best date night spot in St. Louis. Every night is different, but the good food and the cheerful ambiance never change.

The Roaring 20s

All the fun that used to be a part of a night out in the 1920s is even more fun today—especially as drinking is no longer outlawed! Thaxton Speakeasy, located at 1009 Olive Street, allows you to take a step back to a time where the bees had knees and every friend was your Bo! Open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only, reservations are highly recommended; pandemic restrictions are limiting the number of people allowed in, and we would hate for you to miss out on the fun found at this sweet spot.

The Wheel Reinvented

The inventor of the wheel did make our lives easier, just as the St. Louis Wheel makes romance easier during your Missouri getaway! Standing 200 feet high and offering 42 gondolas that are enclosed for your comfort without obstructing the views that will take your breath away, this Ferris wheel has been the star feature of more first dates than we can imagine. It continues to be a date night hot spot for couples of all ages. Open every day of the week from 10 AM until 10 PM, each 15-minute ride promises to enchant, and when the ride ends, it doesn’t mean the fun has to end as well. The St. Louis Wheel is located at the Union Station which also offers mini-golf, a carousel, ropes course, mirror maze, and the wonderful St. Louis Aquarium, allowing for a night of fun that goes on and on and on!

Lose Yourself in the Story

No matter how modern you may be, a night at the movies is still a great idea for a date, especially these days, as you no longer need to sneak in snacks to enjoy during the show. Many movie theaters, including Marcus Ronnie’s Cinema, located at South Lindbergh and Baptist Church Road, now serve alcohol! Marcus Ronnie’s also offers meals, so young lovers of any age can enjoy dinner and a show without leaving the theater. Watch the latest releases or catch a remake of an old show, digitally enhanced to appear as if it were filmed today.

There’s No Trouble in River City

The River City Casino, that is! Open after a brief pandemic closure, the hottest date night of your life can occur when you hit the big jackpot at this exciting casino! Located at 777 River City Casino Boulevard, couples can enjoy a big meal, see a great show, or simply rake in the chips at the gaming tables. Inside the casino, Judy’s Velvet Lounge always has some kind of musical entertainment going on. If you tire of gambling wander over to the elaborate purple velvet lounge and spend the rest of your night sipping chardonnay as you listen to the hottest music. This night will be one of the highlight reels of your relationship!

Fall in Love with Dinner

The ultimate date night experience will always be, has always been, a great meal with the one you love. If you want to amp it up a bit during your St. Louis getaway, the rooftop bar at Vin De Set, 2017 Chouteau Ave, will take your love to the next level! Offering a menu filled with all the best French classics and views of the St. Louis landscape that never fail to take your breath away, you will fall in love with dinner all over again as you dine with the one you love most.

For those that do not add cooking to their long list of accomplishments, a little pre-planning and a stop in Parcell’s Perk Coffee Shop and Bakery, 165 US HWY 68E Suite 3 in nearby Benton, will get you everything you need to please your Valentine. Time for Just the Two of You

Your real life is stressful, filled with meetings, angry bosses, and lots of little moments that give you that little twinge right there in the back of your neck. On this weekend of love, however, we have the perfect solution to rid you of that pain: a couple’s massage offered by Elysian Fields, Massage & Spa! This service includes a 60-minute massage, facials, and snacks (chocolate fondue, fresh strawberries, and cheese and crackers!) and allows you to get out and explore more of the Kentucky Lake area if time is tight!

Couples Who Play Together

Let’s face it, for a relationship to thrive, not just survive, the most important thing you can do is play together. A visit to Maggie’s Jungle Golf will bring out the competitive kid in both of you! Located at 7301 US-641 in Gilbertsville, Maggie’s offers a barrel full of fun and live animals as well as some that it’s best they are fake! Check out the small zoo of ponies, alpacas, and birds—including a beautiful peacock—as you enjoy the taste of a snow cone while playing 18 holes of miniature golf. The couple who plays together will last forever!

Picnic on the Porch

One of the best qualities of our Kentucky Lake rentals is their location right on the lake. Put together a picnic of your favorite foods and take it out to the porch to enjoy! Offering ringside seats of the best view in town, you can sip wine and snack for as long as you want, and this quiet time is the best time to share secrets, wishes, and plans for the future. If it’s a little chilly (which can happen in February), many of our properties offered a four seasons porch, covered and protected from the lake winds that offer the same views without the need for heavy coats.

The Quickest Way to Their Hearts

We all know that the quickest way to anyone’s heart is through their stomach, and a romantic meal at the Willow Bistro, 124 N 15th Street in Murray, is the perfect way to end a beautiful day on Kentucky Lake! Offering an international selection of entrees that includes Greek, Thai, Mexican, and your favorite American dishes, there is literally no way we can choose just one dish for you to enjoy! They are famous for their gyros, so if you can’t narrow down your choices, you definitely cannot go wrong with that, but we can promise you every bite of every meal will make you want more. Ending this romantic getaway with two spoons and their Dessert Medley (you get to choose three of their desserts to try out) will ensure that you both leave the Willow Bistro floating on air!
